Last day for bagels in training

January 6th is our opening day

Hey Bagels,

If you’ve been following Hey Bagel on instagram, you've seen that we’ve been testing the system, the oven and training the staff to make bagels over the past week. Today is our last day of training bagels, which also means at 10:30 am, I’ll have about 260 bagels to give out for free. First come first serve. 2 bagels per person. They go fast.

All this leads to the true headline. We’ve got our opening date set for Monday January 6th, at 8 am. Yes. January 6th. I’m reclaiming that date for something positive. It’s the in-schmear-ection. (DAD JOKE). We’ll be set up with bagels, schmear, and coffee.

As has always been planned, Hey Bagel is a BAGEL SHOP, not a sandwich shop. We will be selling whole bagels. Since we’re producing throughout the day, and our bagels will be super fresh, we will NOT be toasting. Nor will we be slicing and adding schmear. This is a rip & dip, or better yet, a tear and share operation.

This is all in the service of getting you killer bagels and schmear with some kick-ass coffee in and out of the door so you can be on your way asap.

This feels like it’s been a long time in the works. Dare I say seven years since I started my first eponymously named shop. These bagels are the bagels I’ve been dreaming about. I hope you feel the same way.
